What is Advantage?

Advantage is our employability and life skills programme for young adults.

The programme is designed to help participants build confidence, develop practical skills and create a clear plan for the future. There are no exams, no pressure and no expectations that everyone follows the same path.

Instead, we focus on helping each young person identify their strengths, understand their options and take meaningful next steps.

What you'll get

Over the two days, participants will:

  • Receive personalised support with CVs, job applications and interview preparation

  • Meet experienced recruitment professionals and hear what employers are looking for

  • Explore different routes into employment, training and further education

  • Take part in a practical hands-on session delivered by a local trade or employer

  • Build confidence and employability skills

  • Leave with a clearer understanding of their next steps and how to achieve them

What happens during Advantage?

The afternoon focuses on individual support, including:

  • CV development

  • Cover letters

  • Applications

  • Interview preparation

  • Exploring training and education opportunities

  • Planning next steps

Day Two: Real-world experience

Day two includes a practical session delivered by a local trade or employer, giving participants an opportunity to learn about different industries and career pathways.
