Why this matters

Across the country, too many young people are falling out of education - and with it, losing confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging.

• Around 1.6 million pupils are persistently absent from school
• That means missing 10% or more of their education
• Behind every number is a young person at risk of being left behind

This isn’t just about attendance.
It’s about identity, confidence, belonging, and future opportunity.

What we see every day

The young people in this film aren’t statistics, they’re individuals with potential, who simply needed the right environment to thrive.

Many of our students arrive having been out of education for an average of 18 months.

With the right support, structure, and relationships:

• They go on to achieve 85% attendance at our Alternative Learning Hub
• 100% progress into education, employment, or training

This film is more than a story, it’s a piece of work our young people are proud to call their own.

From developing ideas to being behind the camera, they played a central role in bringing this message to life. In doing so, they built confidence, learned new skills, and shared their experiences in a way that only they can.
