Engage

Engage provision: Supporting Key Stage 3 students
For students aged 11-16 who are disengaged from mainstream education

Engage is designed for young people struggling with mainstream education due to anxiety, overwhelm, or unmet needs. This provision offers structured, supportive sessions to help students build confidence, develop life skills, and work towards independence within a school setting.


Programme details

  • Delivery days: Thursdays & Fridays from September at The Hub, Bath (BA2 4ET)

  • Location: B&NES Quality Assured Hub (BA2 4ET)

  • Timings: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

  • Transport: Pick-ups available from BA1/BA2 postcodes

  • Staffing ratio: One staff member per three students

  • Integration: Students return to school for their Schools Partnership session in the afternoon


What we offer

  • Confidence building – Helping students regain self-belief in their abilities

  • Life skills – Learning to engage effectively in group settings

  • Pathway to independence – Supporting students to reintegrate into school life

What to expect

  • Weekly mentoring – Ongoing support tailored to individual needs

  • SEMH learning sessions – Focusing on social, emotional, and mental health development

  • Free play – Encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and social interaction

  • Workplace engagement visits – Providing exposure to different career paths

  • Community activities – Engaging students in their local environment


Cost & funding

  • £150 per session (9 AM - 2 PM) per student

  • Flexible packages available – Tailored to individual student needs

Delivered twice weekly at our Bath Alternative Learning Hub, Engage helps students improve SEMH, teamwork, and communication skills. With a focus on reintegration into full-time education, we offer transport options, EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance) assessments, and personalised support. Our tailored curriculum ensures a structured, nurturing environment to help each student thrive.
