As we step into 2025, Bath Rugby Foundation is proud to reflect on our achievements and share exciting plans for the year ahead. From international trips to inclusive programmes and innovative campaigns, we remain dedicated to changing young lives through sport, education, and community support.

Let's take a look at just some of the plans we have for 2025:

Beppu, Japan – A Life-Changing Rugby Experience

This February, eight students from St Mark’s School in Bath will embark on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Beppu, Japan. Thanks to restricted funding from Premiership Rugby, these boys—many of whom have never played rugby before—will be integrated into Bath RFC’s U15 team. Together, they will experience rugby training, cultural exchange, and coaching sessions with local schools in Beppu. This trip not only broadens their horizons but also opens doors to confidence-building and personal growth.

Exciting Fundraising Events

We’re kicking off 2025 with our inaugural London Lunch in February, hosted by rugby legend David Flatman. This special event aims to bring together supporters and raise vital funds for our ongoing programmes.

In April, we’ll host our Annual Fundraising Dinner, a key highlight of the year that provides essential support for our projects. Both events promise unforgettable evenings filled with entertainment, inspiring stories, and the opportunity to make a real impact.

The Boot Exchange with Howden’s, Bath

In partnership with Howden’s, Bath, we’ve launched the Boot Exchange—a campaign to provide rugby boots to young people who need them but can’t afford them. By breaking down financial barriers, we’re ensuring more children can enjoy sport and build vital life skills through rugby.

Expanding Our Hi5! Clubs

Our Hi5! Clubs continue to grow, providing safe, inclusive spaces for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This year, we’re focusing on integrating even more SEND individuals, giving them opportunities to socialise, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships in a supportive environment.

Schools Programme – Creating Pathways

We’re strengthening our Schools Programme to deliver interventional classes in schools. By teaching rugby, sports, and life skills, we’re supporting those who need extra help, building confidence, and preparing students for brighter futures.

Promoting Our Alternative Learning Hub (ALH)

After smashing our Big Give target, we’re looking to expand our Alternative Learning Hub (ALH) to take on more students. Focused on students aged 14-16, schools, and colleges, the ALH provides a lifeline for young people struggling in mainstream education. We offer mentoring, academic support, and pathways to independence, helping them regain confidence and direction.

ADVANTAGE Programme – Skills for Life and Work

Our ADVANTAGE Programme is designed for NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), equipping them with life skills, CV writing workshops, sports participation, and social opportunities. The programme concludes with a fast-track opportunity to work in hospitality roles at Bath Rugby matches, giving participants a tangible step towards employment and independence.
