Today is World Down Syndrome Day – a global celebration of inclusion, empowerment, and opportunity. At Bath Rugby Foundation, we are proud to champion these values across all of our programmes, ensuring that every young person, regardless of ability, has the chance to thrive.

One of the ways we do this is through our Hi5! Clubs – fully inclusive sport and social clubs designed to support young people with SEND. Through fun, engaging activities, Hi5! Clubs provide a safe space for participants to build confidence, develop life skills, and form lasting friendships.

Why inclusion matters

At Bath Rugby Foundation, we believe that when young people are given the right environment to succeed, everyone benefits. Sport is a powerful tool for bringing people together, breaking down barriers, and creating a sense of belonging. For many of our Hi5! participants, these clubs are more than just a weekly session – they are a community where they can be themselves, feel supported, and achieve personal growth.

World Down Syndrome Day is a reminder that true inclusion means ensuring that every young person has access to the same opportunities. At Hi5! Clubs, we see the impact of this first-hand. Whether it's celebrating a personal milestone, making new friends, or simply having fun, these moments create positive, lasting change.
