Latest news Bath Rugby Foundation’s Alternative Learning Hub tackles isolation in students Isolation in school settings is a common experience for students at Bath Rugby Foundation’s Alternative Learning Hub. Many express that traditional behaviour systems make them feel misunderstood or punished, even when teachers say they care. This disconnect can lead students to stop attending school altogether. Our Alternative Learning Manager explains that a real shift happens when staff listen deeply to students’ goals and work collaboratively to support them. As one example, a staff member recently encouraged a student with aspirations to become a carpenter by explaining that every decision made together would aim to help them achieve that dream. This level of personal investment and understanding is at the core of the Foundation’s work, helping young people find a place where they feel heard, supported, and motivated to re-engage with their education. The Alternative Learning Hub continues to offer a nurturing environment that builds confidence, independence, and a path forward for each student.
