What is Foundation Day?

Foundation Day is our chance to celebrate the life-changing work Bath Rugby Foundation does with vulnerable and underserved young people across Bath and the surrounding areas. It’s also an opportunity to raise vital funds so we can continue to grow our impact.

This year, the Foundation is celebrating its 21st birthday. Established in 2003, we coincided with Jonny Wilkinson’s iconic drop goal that secured England’s Rugby World Cup triumph.

Since that day, Bath Rugby Foundation has supported over 100,000 young people – but our focus remains on the individual, because behind every number is a real person. That’s why this year’s Foundation Day theme is ‘Every 1 Matters.’

From delivering rugby coaching in schools to helping young people overcome serious barriers to education, employment and wellbeing, our mission remains clear: to build confidence, develop life skills, and create pathways to independence.

How you can get involved on Foundation Day

Whether you’re at The Rec or supporting from home, there are several exciting ways to get involved and help us make a difference:

If every supporter at the stadium gave just £5, we could raise over £72,000 to support young lives.

All bars at The Rec will offer the option to add £1 to your drinks order as a donation to Bath Rugby Foundation.
If everyone joined in, we could raise another £14,500 to invest in our community programmes.

Get ready to bid on exclusive, signed Bath Rugby merchandise in our online Silent Auction, launching Friday, 25th April.
Every winning bid supports our work with children and young people facing disadvantage.
