At Bath Rugby Foundation, we’re committed to helping every young person build confidence, develop life skills and create pathways to independence, and our Work Experience Wednesdays are a key part of that mission.

Designed to support students at our Alternative Learning Hub, Work Experience Wednesdays give young people the opportunity to spend time in real workplaces, gaining hands-on experience, discovering new interests and learning directly from professionals across a variety of industries.

These weekly placements form part of our wider Work Experience Safari initiative, a powerful transitional experience created for 13–16-year-olds at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). By working with a range of local employers, from hospitality and media to conservation and professional sport, the programme helps young people explore different career paths and discover what’s possible beyond the classroom.

A creative collaboration with Rocket Makers

This term, two of our students have been taking part in a six-week placement with Rocket Makers, an award-winning digital agency based in Bath. The experience has given them a unique insight into the world of design, branding and technology - from the early stages of creative planning through to delivering complete digital experiences.

Partnerships like this are at the heart of what we do. By connecting young people with forward-thinking employers across Bath and beyond, we’re helping them gain confidence, practical skills and a clearer sense of the opportunities available to them.

Our goal is simple - to ensure that every young person we support has the tools, experiences and belief in themselves to move forward into further education, training or employment.

Work Experience Wednesdays continue to show just how powerful hands-on learning can be in changing young lives and building brighter futures.
