This summer, Bath Rugby Foundation is running Advantage – a free, four-day work readiness programme designed for 16–25 year olds who haven’t yet found their next step.

It’s not school, college, or a lecture. It’s a relaxed but purposeful space to help young people build confidence, explore opportunities, and take the first step towards something better – their way, at their pace.

✅ What is Summer Advantage?

Advantage is for young people who:

• Are not in full-time work or education

• May be working zero-hours or low hours

• Feel stuck, unsure what’s next, or low in confidence

• Need something calm, welcoming and practical

Whether they’ve drifted from education, lost motivation, or just haven’t found a good fit yet — Advantage offers a fresh start.

✅ What to expect

Over five days, participants will be guided through our Five Steps to Success:

1. Breaking barriers – identifying and overcoming the things holding you back

2. Confidence building – finding belief in yourself and your abilities

3. Interview preparation – developing key communication skills

4. Workplace visits – seeing real roles in action

5. CV writing – creating a CV that showcases your strengths

They’ll also:

• Talk through “Where I’m at” and how to start job hunting

• Apply for real jobs and opportunities

• Celebrate progress with a fun activity day on Friday

There’s no pressure – just progress. Every young person leaves with something: a new plan, a CV, confidence, or simply the sense that they’re finally moving forward.

  Time: 10:00am – 2:00pm daily
  Location: Bath Rec Sports Hub (next to the Bath Rugby stadium)
