Over Easter, something remarkable happened at our Alternative Learning Hub.

Young people who, not long ago, hadn’t attended school for 18 months or more - many with multiple exclusions behind them - took revision guides home… and used them.

They came back not just prepared, but motivated. Talking about exams. Wanting to do well. For many of our students, that shift - from disengaged to determined - is huge. It doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built on trust, consistency, and the right support at the right moment. In this case, something as simple as a revision guide helped unlock it.

We’ve seen the same transformation beyond the classroom. Through work experience opportunities - made possible by funding for things like PPE and travel - students who once refused to engage are now stepping into the world of work. One young person recently earned £900 over the Easter break and is now confidently balancing work and GCSEs.

These aren’t small wins. They are life-changing moments.
