Disability groups Bath Rugby Foundation maintains a strong presence in every SEND school in the area offering our inclusion programmes to young people and their families. We aim to increase participation in sport, we organise fixtures against other SEND schools and educate families on healthy eating. We encourage social inclusion by providing a pathway for pursuing sport in other settings. For example, in creating the first mixed ability rugby team in the South West, the Walcot Warriors, a pathway has been created for youngsters who may not have been able to join a rugby club in the past, to become part of the Walcot RFC community. In November 2018 we teamed up with Bath Rugby Ladies to form the area's second Mixed Ability Rugby team, for women aged 7 and over. Four SEND schools were also invited to take part in this year’s Summer Scrum. Have a look at the video below to see how much fun everyone had at Summer Scrum.
